We created Chicken Base Grind – Coarse to temporarily fill the gap while our Whole Ground Chicken is unavailable. We know many of you rely on chicken as part of your rotation, and we wanted to make sure you still had a bone-in chicken option available.

This is not our traditional whole carcass grind — it’s built differently.

What Is Chicken Base Grind?

Chicken Base Grind is a bone-in grind built from selected chicken components rather than whole carcasses.

It includes:

• Bone from chicken backs
• Muscle meat from thighs & breast
• Heart (a nutrient-dense muscle meat)
• Gizzards (we classify these as meat)
• Liver as the secreting organ

It is designed to serve as a foundational protein in a raw rotation.

How This Differs from Our Whole Ground Chicken

Our Whole Ground Chicken is made from whole chickens — meaning the entire carcass is ground together.

Chicken Base Grind is made from specific cuts and components. Because it includes added boneless meat rather than whole carcasses, the structure and cost are different.

Why Is the Price Different?

Our Coarse Ground Whole Turkey comes in a convenient 2 LB. deli container. It is a coarse grind from the whole prey, which means it contains all the meat, bones & organs. It also contains feet. The only thing missing is the feathers & intestines.

On these small farms, Michigan birds were raised specifically for our products. --The farmer only produces one flock per year. They are part of our exclusive line of products.

Our mutton contains the whole animal. It is a lamb (a sheep) that is over 1 year old. It's the same wholesome animal as its younger relative. We use the whole animal - not throw-aways or left-overs. Beaver is part of the natural diet of wolves, lynx, foxes, etc. It is an aquatic herbivore with webbed feet.

The MPC Select products are sourced direct from a small network of farms committed to a high standard of animal husbandry.  MPC Select products have never been given any antibiotic or hormone regimens.  Beef are raised entirely on pasture with a small ration of non-GMO grain. That means that their primary diet is their naturally foraged greens (grass, clover, and alfalfa hay in the winter).  Their grain supplement is less than 20% of their overall diet and help maintain energy levels during Indiana's cold winters.
