Ground Lake Whitefish-2 LB. More specifically, it is coarse ground, Lake Michigan Whitefish & it's packaged in a convenient 2 LB. deli container. We use the whole specimen including the head but excluding the guts. What a lovely near-whole prey offering! These are not scraps or throwaways!
This Lake Whitefish is harvested from the cold waters of Lake Michigan & is actually greenish brown on the back with silver sides & a silvery-white belly. They are fished by tribal-licensed fishermen. Wild & sustainability caught. Product of the US. It's all natural with no preservatives or additives. --The great quality that you can count on from our products!
Lake Whitefish is very low in fat yet contains more omega-3 fatty acids than pink & sockeye salmon. Lake Whitefish is a good source of niacin, potassium, vitamins B-6 & B-12 & an excellent source of phosphorus & selenium.
Mercury contamination isn't a concern since Lake Superior, Lake Huron & Lake Michigan have lower levels of mercury than inland lakes & reservoirs. Lake Whitefish has low levels of mercury buildup & passes all FDA standards concerning levels of contaminants.
