According to Wikipedia, “The pancreas is a glandular organ in the digestive system & endocrine system of vertebrates. It is both an endocrine gland producing several important hormones, including insulin, glucagon, somatostatin & pancreatic polypeptide, and a digestive organ, secreting pancreatic juice containing digestive enzymes that assist the absorption of nutrients and the digestion in the small intestine. These enzymes help to further break down the carbohydrates, proteins & lipids in the chyme.”
This organ is a normal part of a raw-fed diet. In addition to feeding this for variety, pet caregivers seek out pancreas to combat a life-threatening condition called EPI. Several dog breeds & some cats have a predisposition to EPI, Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency. By adding pancreas regularly to an EPI-afflicted dog/cat’s diet, pet guardians can take charge of their pet’s health and restored vitality for years to come. EPI can also be kept under control by eliminating kibble and instead feeding a raw diet as Mother Nature intended.
Pancreas also helps pets afflicted with pancreatitis. It’s the idea of feeding to the health need.
Consult your vet regarding EPI, pancreatitis and how to restore your pet’s health.
